Still aged 9, Emily Bearpark competed in the National Age Group Diving Championships held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, 7-10 July, and did exceptionally well over the 3 days.

She won a Silver Medal in the 5m Platform event for girls aged 11 and under and ranked 5th in the 3m Springboard event, and 7th in the 1m Springboard event, both events again for girls aged 11 and under. She also achieved personal best scores in all these events.

All of this is an exceptional achivement since she missed 4months of training earlier this year due to a broken arm which she did whilst training.

Congratulations to Emily Bearpark who received an award for remarkable achievement at the Local Heroes Awards 2010 which were held at Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield on Thursday 13th Jan 2011.
